John Cassaday

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, JOHN CASSADAY has called New York City home since 1997, the same year he broke into the comics and entertainment industry. In 1999 John co-created the highly acclaimed DC/Wildstorm series PLANETARY with Warren Ellis and in 2002 re-launched CAPTAIN AMERICA for Marvel Comics. Cassaday then collaborated with Joss Whedon (Writer/Director of THE AVENGERS) on Marvel's best-selling ASTONISHING X-MEN. John's work on Planetary and Astonishing X-Men garnered him an unprecedented three consecutive Eisner Awards for Best Artist. Cassaday's work has been exhibited in Hong Kong, New York City and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC. Aside from his comic projects, John has created designs for Ringling Bros. & Barnum Bailey Circus, Levi’s Blue Jeans, and the film, WATCHMEN. John made his directorial debut on Joss Whedon's FOX television series, DOLLHOUSE. He is a member of the Society of Illustrators and the Director's Guild of America.
